Apple v. Pepper: When Can a Private Individual Sue for an Antitrust Violation?
Private individuals are allowed to file antitrust suits against corporations. However, it is not always clear what sort of relationship must be the basis of a legitimate complaint. In Apple v. Pepper, the Supreme Court considered whether consumers could directly sue Apple for a surcharge on apps in the iPhone App Store, or whether only the app developers had the right to file such a suit.
